I bet it had something to do with it still being in the beta stage. Emu8x sounds pretty cool though. I mean: how many years do we get to see on-calc emulation work?

I must say that Emu8x deserved that, because an on-calc emulator that works is a better achievement than a game. However, Wizards was awesome.

You've been out of the loop? Until today, I though Emu8x was a PC utility. Don't tell MV I said that.

thus the title 8X also, I got an 89ti. There is no reason to be out of the loop. Before anyone starts raving on the out of the loop part, just lets end it here.

Heh heh, if a one-liner post is "raving," watch out our political threads. I'm just saying it was a shock to the system to see exactly Emu8x was considering how little buzz there's been surrounding it. Maybe there was some community skeptisim about whether it would fly or not, but judging from the reviews, I'm guessing it does. That's good news to us 82 guys because porting can be a real kick in the cornflakes.

Yeah, but Emu8x doesn't work for anything but the 83+. NO 84+'s like me.

Sure it's slow, it's a Z80 emulating a Z80! Anyways, while an on-calc emulator may be an impressive technical achievement, I feel Wizards should have won since it has more practical use and value.

yep, according to a friend, practical use and value for an hour-long bus ride to a track meet and back.

Hopefully, the POTY results will put an end to the identity crisis. Can anybody put up an animated screenshot of Emu8x? Just to get an idea of how it runs?

Yeah, I was wondering about. I guess it wouldn't really be a competition though because it is was -cough- the only new assembly prog for 2005 (where'd all the developers go?). But I notice they also don't cover 85 or 86 games like they did in prior years.

Robot War is a great game and a great achievement. It saddens me that it didn't really get that much recognition.

Yeah, I have to say overlooking it was an unusual move on ticalc's part even though 82 gaming's been stagnant since the new ROM came out. I'm guessing the archivers either weren't inclined or couldn't test it. Still I was suprised to see 85 and 86 categories weren't mentioned either.
