If we're going to have a logo it needs to be tasteful, not cliche, and not with circular logic. Personally I don't think we really need a mascot, lets see what the majority wants.

I voted no. I don't believe it is especially important or necessary to have a caricature depiction representative of the forums. At what point should we require that a person see an icon and say, "That's United-TI!" Razz

At the moment, I don't think that UTI needs a mascot, but if we are to have one it should be some sort of owl.

I think a mascot would make UTI stand out a bit more compared to the other groups. That's a good thing right Razz

No unless it's absolutely perfect. None of the ideas so far come even close to being good let alone perfect.

What if we simply use these few pixels:

You can put it somewere on your title screen or in the credits.
It doesn't look like much but you can simply draw it, both in basic and asm.

And it isn't a mascot, bu it could be some kind of trademark, so in a few months everyone know its a good program if it has this tag somewere. Neutral

I'm not sure. I think the logo is enough. One only thing harder than deciding a relevant mascot is finding one that won't be dorky.

But that's the point of a mascot!

Personally, I liked the UTI logo here, or at least that general design.

If it's all the same, I say its unnecessary. We've got the logo, we've got the banner and a nice forum theme. I think a mascot (especially an animal) would just make us look like a bunch of n00bs. And we're not a football team here or anything.

I don't really support a mascot unless someone comes up with a great design.

Maybe we could have more banners and rotate them?

It's centered in the "I"...
Maybe it is the group's opinion overpowering me, but I think the only mascot we need is a calc.

Blub is already Cemetech's unofficial mascot. For the uninitiated:

My avvie, you mean?

You'd probably have some legal issues, and most of the forum feels that no mascot is needed. For future reference, don't revive a nearly four-month-old topic unless you feel that you have a VERY meaningful contribution to make.
