This is a breakout-style game I'm writing mostly as a learning experience.
Note that at this time only the main game interface is done, and the ball only collides with the playfield boundaries. It's quite rough.
Oh, and it's written entirely in 68000 assembly language because C is for failures and little babies.
Interseting tidbit: brk() is/will be the only program for the TI-68k that you are/will be able to run by entering its name at the homescreen.
Screenshots:

http://sigma.unitedti.org/files/ti68k/brk()/brk()92+.gif
Notice that one of the game's features is that the bricks in the playfield can move at varying speeds.
Game files (because apparently I set the playback rate in CalcCapture too high):

TI-89: 2nd is "fire" and fire shoots the ball. ESC quits.
TI-92+: HAND is "fire" and, wouldn't you know it, ESC also quits.
It's kind of too bad that DarkerRobin is (I think) the only person here with a 68k calc.

There's enough people here that have TI-89's I think. Me, Brazucs, Jeremiah, AlienCC, sigma I guess, anyone I've missed?
Maybe I should check who's been downloading TI-89 games from our archive... |

how much different is 68K ASM from Z80 ASM. Cuz the only person who's real dedicated rite now to my calc programming club has a Ti-89 (should i get one?)
And how come there aren't any tutorials on ticalc that teach Ti-89 Basic? Is it because it's just easier to leanr 68K ASM. Or does the Basic totally compromise the 68K's power, so it's not worth using? |

The TI-89 Basic is wonderful Basic. It can be learned quite well from the manual though, and there's not much to tricks about it, that I know of. |

so there are no a+3(b=10)->a tricks? or similar optimizations? So it's fully optimized already?
So maybe i'll just tell my friend to learn basic and come talk to me when he wants to start learnign ASM.
@sigma: sry for going really off topic.

Let me put it this way: if software programming is human life, then then the Z80 is Venus and the 68k is The Hamptons (and the PowerPC is a research station in Vladivostok). |

I also have an 89. I don't have much else to do, as my 83+BE currently has a broken linkport.
Oh, can you recommend a 68k ASM tutorial? All the ones in the sticky are for z80 ASM. |

technoplaza has some great tutorials (i forgot the URL  ). Read Jimmy Mardel's, it's the best I've found so far. If you have some experience with C or z80 ASM, then you should be okay. The only thing i can't seem to get used to is 8 32-bit registers adn 8 32-bit address registers and built in ASM multiplicaiton.
Am I rite about that? |
