File Name :: Sprite Lab
Author :: axcho
Category :: Ti-83plus Asm Utilities
Screenshot ::
Description ::
Sprite Lab is a tool to make designing sprites easier. You can browse and edit 8x8 sprites on your calculator, as well as save and load them. If you need sprites for your game but your drawing skills are questionable, then please try this program out. The source code is also interesting and thoroughly commented, but please get my permission before using any of it.

Well, unfortunately, the archive is corrupted, and the source code cannot be extracted. Fortunately PowerArchiver doesn't choke all together and is able to extract everything else, but other users may not be so lucky.

Sorry about that. I tried it in WinZip and all the other files work. If you want to see the source code, just send me an email.

Send me a new .zip file, I'll update it, or you can update it yourself.

I am still working on that part. It is a lot harder than I expected! Right now it does all possible 8x8 sprites.

There is space reserved inside the program to store the saved sprites. Ion and Mirage automatically write the program back so it is persistent. There is no way to automatically add the sprites to a game, since there are so many different ways to use sprites. The purpose of Sprite Lab is to design the sprites, and then you can put them in your program how you want. The idea is that you would use the calculator for Sprite Lab, and then manually enter the sprite data in an assembly program on the computer.

That's the problem. You can't look at your saved sprites while editing a basic program on the same calculator. You would have to draw them somewhere else first.

I started a new topic to get help with my z80 Cellular Automata Tile routine:

I got an account at MaxCoderz and started a collection of sprites I've made with my program. Also, I've decided to fix a harmless, but slightly annoying bug with the zoomed display. It should be fixed in a few days.

[EDIT]
The bug is fixed! Once Sir Robin updates the file, you can have a bug-free version.

I have a new collection of sprites. Come check it out.
