I am atempting to make a game based on angband, rouge, moria, ect. If you don't know what that means, here is a overview. The levels are randomly generated, including towns, and extend infinitely outward. Stairs will take you up and down between diffrent depths. The further down, the rarer towns are but the more common the rare shops come up. Also, stairs become rarer as you go down, and stronger monsters arise. You regain health and mana every turn, but as you do you consume food. You will need to keep your self fed because if you dont, you will die. You get a turn each round and so do all enemies, all on the main screen. Direct attacks are launched by moving into an enemy, and ranged and magic atacks exist both for you and enemies. Hopefully, quests will be included...as well as a few unique one of a kind enemies.

Plans

-a simple class system that alows you to change class as you need, planned classes number 10 (four base and six dual classes[mage warrior, priest archer, ect])...class change is planned to be limmited some how
-lots of weapons, magic,spells,armor,shields,accessories(rings/necklasses),food,potions,scrolls,ect.
-lots of monster types, including uniques.
-a managable but deep stat system (well, ok...planned to have over 60 character variables...and that is alot, but you will only affect 16 of them...)
-minigames?
-saving at towns and quick saving anytime (if you die, you loose that progress)
-much more?

Finished:
-a random room choosing routine (all rooms are pre-made, game simply choose from them)
-can walk aroun with detection of collisions
-in game menu (magic,item,ect)

Not Finished:
-graphics
-every thing else

Angband and Moria are from LOTR/the Silmarillion. Is this a Middle-Earth type game? if so Id recommend watching out for Michael Tolkien who threatens everyone and everything that has to due with tolkien not directly under his control. I know as my dad is an author who is the author of 1 tolkien book and co-author of 2 that are scheduled to be published next year.

anyway sounds cool and I cant wait to see it

those games are tolkien based, this is not...but if you google them, they are free-ware (I personaly like Sangband and Zangband, which are good variants)

added store system, fixed two bugs that realy didn't do anything but slow stuff down a little.

Well, if you are wondering how it looks, here is the first room (room 0, only on level 0...and prevents you from going beyond as it lacks any up stair cases)

the rooms will be 6X6 and here is why:

screen displays a 8X8 area, I don't want to have to do any special aligning to prevent you from going into a wall in another room...so, if they are 6X6 then the next rooms are displayed to.

data from rooms:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and Current as the are displayed on screen

yes, it uses xlib...though I may use the regular(non-app) one so I could bundle all of the data into a asm file or flash app via basic and builder and make it 83 compatible.
Also, I am making it because Rouge(83+flash) is such an uterly crappy game...when Angband and such are are so awsome.

also, I have finished my list of commands and am programming each command...some might not happen
