There is no need to be sorry; I serriously doubt he will drop the project.

I could start a similar project, but I am not into game programming, and I get board of things fast.

Yeah this project is big but it will not be discontinued. In comparative size it will probably take your entire calculator's memory about 2 times over. Except if you have SE.

When you finish, do you have any plans to split into parts so that non-silver edition users can play it?

I think he's planning on releasing it in several parts. I don't think you couldn't fit all that code into one program, and, besides, he knows not everyone has a silver edition!

My compression routine is very similar to David's and Justin's.

It has only one difference, and that difference I believe will save a little more space.

By a little more space, I mean it may be about 1 to 2 % more effective.

Thats pretty good. i-2 % doesn't seem like much, but it can be if you hve a huge program!

Yes the game will be in parts that you can load onto your calculator and it already uses a large amount of compression. Simply put it will be as big as I said USING compression. Each part consists of a base program containing all major functions/graphics, and a secondary program containing compressed tilemap data. I've done some calculations and by using this technique I can have overworlds that are the equivelent of 400 calculator screens, providing that I get about 50% compression.

Wow,that's seriously a lot. I remember a while ago you said you were going to split it up,I forget how many parts you said, but it was something like four parts. Since you've stated graphics work, coding, do you think there will be more parts then you origionally expected?

There are 5 parts and that was the original plan. We just didn't expect the size to get this big but in the end Pascal and I beleive it'll be worth it.

It'll be totally worth the big size. From what I've seen and heard from you,it'll probably be the best game for the TI-83+ every! I'll probably just throw out my gameboy and play your game instead Very Happy

I don't know if i could compete with gameboy. I do know that this is above the competition of the ti83+ world thus far.

Maybe not compete with gameboy, but pretty close, if u r talking about a gb(no color, no advanced, no pocket) cause it is the closest to a TI-83+...

Well I'm gonna try my hardest to make sure it's worth it. I intend on putting many hours into this game. I've already put in over a 100.

It will definetly be worth it. After putting a lot of time in to a program,it's always worth the work. And from what I've seen,it's definetly worth it!
