Around midst December of 2002, many members of Cirrus, Calcbasic, and The Calc Site realized that the Webmasters David, Justin, and Alan (in respective order) were really acting as one large group because we were as active at other sites as our own. Site Visitors and members posted on our discussion forums and sent email telling us that we should join forces sience we already have an indirect affiliation.

It did not take long for us to agree that consolidation would improve the efficiency of our sites by optimizing the presentation of information. One of the first things we decided to do is consolidate our discussion forums into one to prevent having identical threads at each website. We finally all came to the conculsion that we would call the new site United-TI, and each affiliate site would be granted one administrator.

Not everything went to plan. The origional plan was to merge Cirrus Programming, Calcbasic, and The Calc Site into one efficient, consoldiated group; however, the webmaster of The Calc Site pulled out to comit to personal obligations, and Outer Limit Software requsted to join.

Going with the flow, we agreed the best way to handle the drop of The Calc Site was to accept The Outer Limit Software site with its webmaster, Bryan. We also realized that we had another problem. We did not have a host. Luckily for us, the webmaster of another calculator website, Prokul Interactive, wanted to join and knew of a good host.

We were originally hosted by RedElf.Net
We liked our new host very much because the security was better, the server was faster, the servers internet connection was faster, they had PHP, Perl/CGI, and MySQL installed (among other things), and their service had been exemplary in that they helped us with every step. They set up our domain name, http://unitedti.org, set up our email at our domain, help us configure MySQL, and immediatly answered questions. We would ask a question, and got an answer and assistance the same day. Unfortunately RedElf.Net went out of business, and we had to seek hosting elsewhere.

We plan to finish the United-TI website and all of the conversions of our affiliates very soon. Please look back soon for an update.
