I'm waiting for the emulator. Evil or Very Mad

Just kidding there. But I'm not getting it for a number of reasons (besides cost, for once). It's a great piece of hardware, but it just seems like my dollar would go further with an 89 Titanium. I'm guessing the $130 Titanium brazucs mentions was at regular price, right?

they charge a 50$ international shipping fee, even for tiny memory cards, so calcs is the same. IF they ship international, which they mostly don't :(

And like i probably said 1000 times, i'd rather buy a TI-89 titanium.

It's not possible to buy an 89 Titanium "over-the-counter" in Europe? Surly there's some kind of Walmart equavalent there.

Most of the regular 89 games had to be adapted/ported, for lack of better words, in order to work on the Titanic. There were also a few programs written by Kevin Kofler to help with the compatibility issues.

Yes, there are more developers for the 83+ than the 89. Why? Because it's easier to program, and the calculator is cheaper. Laughing

*shock*!!!
Sad Sad Sad

but the 89 has more possbilities: it's faster, has more ram and has grayscale (OMG!!!!111!)

i'm not going to buy a new calc anyway, so there's no difficult choices yet to be made.

Don't be shocked that TI would write the operating system in such a way as to cause compatibility problems with most programs and games.

They try to put program "protections" on the 89 OS by making it so that programs (assembly, I believe) 8K and smaller could be the only ones run. 3rd party programmers break the protection. TI makes it so that HW1 89's can only use half of the archive for programs and such - 3rd party programmers break that too.

It's like this on going battle between TI and 3rd party programmers or something. TI creates some new protection, but someone always finds a way to break it.
