I'm curious as to what manner of requirements we have for people who want to be a UTI member, are there any and if so what exactly are they?

Also, how should one go about adding a new member, is it just a matter of changing the member's forum member group or is there more involved?

Currently there doesn't seem to be any set list of requirements, usually I find out why they want to be a member, what they wish to contribute, etc. Then I talk with a couple other staff members (over IM usually) to see what their opinion is. We may however wish to make a list of requirements to join, for the future.

That is just the first step, they also can have an email address / webspace setup if they like, and soon will get a higher level of access to the frontpage (once the new one is done) then regular users.

So if anybody asks me to make them a UTI member, I'll just ask those things, post here, and set things up for them if we agree?

Yeah thats it.

All you have to do is click Admin CP

The very first page has a place to search for a member.

Just type their name in there and click the button or hit enter.

Go to edit their details, and change their actual member group, which is a box that shows one thing.

Then go to the bottom and click whatever it says.

Be sure to set UTI Member not .UTI member, unless you want to allow the individual to vote in the logo contest.

When we are all said and done, I will execute queries to get rid of the .UTI members and .Members group! I will fix all the permissions et cetera without casing any inconsistencies in the db.
