Hey, everyone:

I have this plan to put two blue LEDs in the bottom corners of my TI-83+ S.E.
In order to do this, I'm obviously going to have to open the case. I need to know how I can do this. I heard the calculator is attached via "torx" screws? Can anyone tell me the exact bit size I'll need? Thanks in advance.

unscrew all the screws. (also the one of the backup-batterie. But watch out, the backuk battery JUMPS out! Wink ) Orientate your TI with the lcd away from you. At the bottom there are some handgrips (ribbles). Where the ribbles fade, and the handgrip ends, you have to "force" it open Laughing (I did it that way Razz ) But maybe you should advise some more sources Surprised

Thanks for the info on the flying backup battery. But my real question is what size of a torx bit I need.

T5 or T6, or a really narrow flat-tip.

I just drilled out my screws on mine with a drill press Very Happy
of course when it came to putting it all back together I had to bring out the epoxy!!!
It didn't exactly turn out looking pretty but it worked.

I think the easiest way to open it is with a T6 screwdriver

Or, what I've done before, is put a hot glue gun over the screws, put some glue into the screw's little compartment, let it dry, and take some pliers and twist the glob of glue until the screw comes out. If that doesn't work you could also melt plastic and do the same thing... but if you do I guarantee it'll be messy...

What? Whcih part? Because the hot glue gun really isn't all that messy... as long as everything works out okay.

I'd prefer to just get the screws out the normal way without causing any damage to the case.
