Did you follow my previous post? If you did, then do this. Pur .z80 file in source folder. Then go to start and execute run. Type command then enter. Then type in cd C:\ASM\Tasm(no exe extension). Press enter. Then type in asm progname .

I've updated the tutorial (see the link in my sig). Check out part 5 for some words on fixed point algebra and look-up tables.

Something is wrong. Your program ends at line 0000 Neutral , babyboy. Don't try to compile a blank program.

Announcement:

Barring any unforeseen complications, I will upload version 2.0 of "Learn TI-83 Plus Assembly In 28 Days to ticalc.org tomorrow. All I'll say is that I think it's going to be a whole helluva lot better then the current abomination. :)

(10-5-2004 2:37 PST): Just uploaded it now.

EDIT: It's up

Heh that reminds me of Return of the Jedi Very Happy.

And the amount of work that you guys have put those tutorials is amazing. If there were more people like you in this community, we would truely be lucky. Greatly appreciated guys Smile.

*also note that im pretty sure asmguru was written before the 83+'s existed ... thats why it doesnt cover any 83+ stuff.

It doesn't do a good job of teaching even the 83 stuff.

Neither is it very good as reference material, since there is a ROM call document that outclasses it.

It's not even a good comparison, because in the case of calculators the relevant technology hasn't changed at all during these years, so even the 'at its time' argument doesn't hold.

And the excuse that it wasn't written by an expert is stupid. I'm no expert so I don't write tutorials (plus I'm lazy), and a dyslexic newb writing an "AsmGuru" tutorial is kinda like if I tried to teach AP US history.

An excellent comparison. I just stick to answering questions (usually) on things instead of creating tutorials.

I don't know, I'd think you'd do a pretty good job at teaching AP US History. About as good as me teaching Russian history.
