What would happen if , say.. 6 people used IR links to communicate, wouldn't that mess all the signals up andstuff?

Im no wizzard, couldn't you set up different frequences or something? Or have a setting that one sends stronger then the other??? Again, im just a sophmore in highschool, so i dont have a lot of knowledge in that area...

i was about ready to cry until adm. and arcane posted! yes, getCalc( is the only way to talk to another calc. Ok, making a program and not cheating is easy, but what about those long lectures in science and geography? i am a chatty person, me and buddies would like that, and if there was a satalite link, we could post in class too! Razz

you could set it up so that when a calc sent anything, it sent its id num then the other calcs check to see if thats the calc it it supposed to be receiving from. or you could have a chat room with 6 ppl :)

and someone here said that you could use send( to send stuff, but get( doesnt work. i thought only getCalc( could communicate calc <-> calc. can anyone clear this up for me, as i dont have a 2nd calc with me to test Sad

I think Get( AND Send( worked between my TI83-Plus and another TI83-Plus, but i'm not sure. Razz

i have had problems with get(, but if they do i would like to know. i may be able to find out this afternoon.

do they work even when the calc isnt in wait mode?

actually, those latin lines are spelled wrong. oh well.

about the manual telling you, do they tell you that the other calc has to be in wait mode for getCalc( to work? NO! stupid TI, we should write a *real* manual Wink

yes getcalc( is the only way to comm between calc to calc!!!


doesn't the calcs have to be paused? if not it would help my 2player...

NO GETCALC( IS NOT THE ONLY WAY! Send( works too for calc to calc communication but not Get(!!!! if you do not beleive me go look at the code of shane fry's AIM Chat Laughing

Calm down, I do not think GetCalc is enough to start shouting your heads off.

Does Send( require a pause (if it does work)?

I would think that Send( replaces the pause needed for GetCalc(, but i may be wrong (prolly Laughing)
