I was trying to upgrade the OS on my TI-83+SE to v1.16, but it didn't work; now it says "Waiting... Please install calculator software now" whenever I turn it on, but when I try to load the OS again the calc becomes non-responsive (pushing ON/OFF doesn't do anything) until I remove the batteries. I've tried it with the USB cable and black serial cable and three different programs; they all do the same thing.

Yes, it doesn't work, but before I try to download, if I hit a key it gives an error and if I push another one it turns off, after I try to download it doesn't respond at all. The send software gives a timeout error. Maybe I could try putting new batteries in it.

Yeah but if I do press one it gives an error and it turns off (then I can turn it back on), but after I try to send and it times out it doesn't do that... I dunno.

Use new batteries and the OS Downloader from the current version of TI Connect. If that still doesn't get you anywhere call 1-800-TI-CARES.

Welcome Ray Kremer!

If you have a serial link, you may also want to try the graphlink software.
