The upload file function (and some other functions) seems to be missing now.

I think he meant in the email...

those were nice, and were also my only way of uploading :(

here is what i get in ie :
Quote:
An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server.  Make sure you have permission to access that folder.

Details:
200 Type set to A
200 PORT command successful
425 Unable to build data connection: Connection timed out
all this comes up in a popup :(

I am using IE btw...

I did not know there was ever an upload on port 20000.

Anyway, why not use FTP?

Maybe after the site redesign, we can build our own management client ad run it on port 80 over regular http, so everyone can use it.

What do you think?

Yes, it probably is my firewall mixed with IE, and my luck thrown in there.

But, I used to could upload through the email portal, and also i have uploaded from Netscape's wysiwyg file editor...

Maybe you could try changing file permissions in your firewall for iexplorer.exe. Have you tried other programs like EasyFTP or FileZilla?

No, that is not the problem. You have anonomous logon set to automatic.

Your security settings for Internet Explorer are wrong.

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Click the Security Tab > Then Click the Custom level button.

Scroll to the bottom and make it look like this picture I have attahced below.

BTW, this is a common problem I deal with often at work; I don't know why it occurs.

It doesn't use anonomous login if you type in a password, right?

Do you use passive FTP?

Any switches, hubs, or routers filtering your network?

Are you sure that you use ftp://www.unitedti.org and not ftp://unitedti.org? When using the latter, I couldn't log in, so it that could possibly be the problem.

Just my two cents...

I use ftp://ftp.unitedti.org/ like Jbirk said to in his announcement post.

I tried ftp://www.unitedti.org/ and it gave the same result :(

I think (99% positive actually) it is IE though, so I may look into an FTP uploader client something or other...

heh, I found the problem. The fix was not exactly what Jbirk posted, but by his instructions, I figured it out. I went into internet opts., and read each one, and there is one that says something about fixing firewall support in parenthesis, and I checked that and whala! :D

Thanks for all your help!

EDIT:
Why is pHp disalbed in the websites? Sad
I'm trying to learn pHp, and I'm looking for a free host that supports it (don't need much space (10mb would prolly be enough... not sure totally Laughing))
I just need a space to test small scripts after I make them Wacko

Same here, only reason I've not even started learning yet, could also use it for a forum.
