yeah, it's the radiation of photons from an object...

still, I've never heard anyone talking about 'types of photons', while I have heard 'types of radiation,' hence the choice of the word radiation when he was talking about "types of waves." And radiation is more synonymous to waves when talking about light then photons. It's the radiation that does the whole wave thing anyway.

Right now gamma and X-rays are much too difficult to harness to be used for energy. Nuclear reactors are getting smaller nowadays though, so atomic spacestations are becoming a more praticle option.

They might even have atomic spaceships someday. You could fuse the atoms floating in the supposedly empty space and create energy.
