Would it be possible to have a new forum section, entitled "Gaming and Entertainment" or something similar, added to Other Interests? I'm sure that I am not the only who has played any sort of game (PC, Nintendo, etc) or even watched something for entertainment (like movies). So, yeah. Laughing

You could just go to IGN for that, but it would be nice to have a board for that here.

I agree. Movies and games (not on TI calcs) are a common topic in Open Topic. If a staff member reads this forum, the Gaming and Entertainment section has my vote!

I would do that, but it would add clutter for no reason really in my opinion. I mean, for game programming, the game would fit into asm or basic unless it is something else :)

My point is, when we get too many forums, we have more problems. For instance, if you are asking for programming help for a game, does it go under the asm or the gamming and entertainment section?

Essentially, each will need to be juged on an individual basis and some people will disagree, so it creates problems.

You see, Open Topic could theoretically have a programming question, but it would be nicer to put that in asm.

If we add Gamming and entertainment, do we nest a forum in the basic and the asm? I don't want to turn this place into a hierachical library.

That is why we have the search feature.

No. This forum would have nothing to do with programming, only gameplay. As long as the distinction is clear, I don't see any problem with it. I do see the disadvantage of a cluttered board though.

I think a gaming forum would be nice but I agree with JBirk, besides it's not like open topic has so many active topics that we really need more forums.

True, true.

I do think we should wait with adding more forums until we have a better structure (boards, forums, sub-forums, etc) that would minimize forum chaos.
