i am simply amazed. windows xp has yet to crash on me, and its been runnign nonstop for little over a month (since dec 22). crap. i just jynxed myself

For the past 2 months, XP has been saying "Fatal Error" when I logged on, but other than that, it never gave me any trouble.

yeah, mine has this habit of freezing so that the pseudo power button doesen't work, and then I have to pull the plug.

Try holding the power button for 10-15 seconds. I discovered that's what my computer needs. (I think it's so you don't accidentaly bump it)

I think that's a feature of soft power down computers. (Pc's that can shut themselves down, not requireing you to press the power button)

You should have an option in your bios or somewhere in windows where you can select if it should power down when you hold the button or power down when you simply press it. I know I do.

The theory is that the shock of going from cold to heated so quickly has a detrimental effect on the circuitry. They say that every time that you turn your computer off and on, you subtract one day from its life. Smile
