I don't know, I'm not really up-to-date with what the other mods do, didn't we have some kind of page where one could see how them ods have been modding their forums?

What exactly would global mods do? Moderate all the forums?

Essentially, that is what they do.

They are the moderator's moderator!

Well, we could:

  • just have the admins choose one (or more, I think 2 would be best) and be done with it
  • have people apply for the role of global mod and then vote
  • have people vote on a list of all the mods (or a list of the top 10 mods or something)
  • have people select after reading a compiled (or just copied and pasted) page with info as to who mods how and stuff. Which, obviously, would have to be compiled by one of the admins.
In any case, we'd need more feedback than just JBirk's, Jeremiah, and mine, right? (hint to the rest of the uti members)

the idea sounds good to me. i would like to see someone who kept track of the mods who arent here to mod effectively. the only time that i am not here is when the redelf server goes down which seems to more and more often.

The global mod's job is not just to check the other mods, it's also to increase moderation efficienty on the entire board, filling in where other mods are unavailable/or anything like that.

So, how does everybody think we should appoint one (or two/more)?

two sounds good, but whoever is chosen has to be someone who is fairly active so that they will do what they are supposed to. also, if more than two are chosen there may be arguments between them as to what exactly each individual is supposed to do.

Jbirk: i would be a global mod, BUT if you look at my modding record for the ASM Forum, you'll see the reason i shouldn't be Neutral

I doubt it, the current mods aren't arguing right now right? Besides we're not 6 year olds and know how to behave normally (most of the time Smile).

I think that would be best, yes.

I'd like to be a global mod too, hmm, might as well point out some good things about me as a global mod:
×Objective modding
×Good modding so far (I think)
×Very active
×Different timezone, so if combined with an active mod from the US we'd have pretty much 24/7 global modding going on.

well, if you have looked at my modding record Jbirk, and have deemed me OK, then I would be ArcWiz's US counterpart Laughing

So...Will we be hiring local mods to replace the positions vacated by people becoming global mods, or will they just fill two positions?

And Adm. Wiggin, you just might want to get rid of the hat on your avatar.
