Hey guys, this is my first time here since 2004. I'm glad to see there's still a community.
Way back in the day, I used VTI when developing The Poopsmith (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/317/31775.html). I want to do some more assembly development. I've read about SPASM, and it's working great for me. I'm having some issues with WabbitEmu, however. I'm trying to start 2 instances of my TI-83+ rom and link them together. I have been unable to find directions on how to do so. According to http://wikiti.brandonw.net/index.php?title=Emulators:Wabbitemu, it is possible to "Run up to 8 running calculators at once" and "Connect virtual calculators to each other". However, when I try to start up more than 5 instances of the 32bit version of Wabbitemu, it always crashes. If I use the 64 bit version (I'm on 64bit Windows 7), Wabbitemu crashes with more than 3 instances.
Here's what happens after I start up 2 instances of Wabbitemu.
1. I go to Calculator > Connect virtual link cable in both instances. The title bar of the first instance I started changes from "Wabbitemu" to "Wabbitemu (1)", and the titlebar of the second changes to "Wabbitemu (2)".
2. On one of the calculators, I click 2nd > LINK > RECEIVE, and then press ENTER. The screen now displays "Waiting...".
3. On the other calculator I do "pi->A", then 2nd > LINK > SEND > REAL. I select variable A, and then choose Transmit. After a short delay, I receive "Error in Xmit".
Am I doing something wrong? Does Wabbitemu actually support this? If not, do you have any alternative emulators you recommend? |

Welcome back, unfortunately RevSoft is down at the moment. In our forums I had a guide for this very issue.
First off make sure you have the latest version of WabbitEmu. If not you can get that here:

Attached below is the guide I wrote up.
You can post questions here and hopefully RevSoft will be back up shortly so you can ask questions there as well. Since I tend to check RS more frequently.

Wow, thanks for the quick response! I tried following your guide to the letter (is it necessary to send the same program to both instances of wabbitemu *before* attempting to send the file from one to the other?). Still no luck, however. I'm using version 1.5.7.7 of the 64 bit version of Wabbitemu, which seems to be the latest version. I have the exact same issue with the 32 bit version of Wabbitemu. I've also tried "Run as administrator". Anything else I can try? |

| Huh, I just realised that I had the same issue. I haven't read the guide at all, though. I have tested code in assembly for linking, though, and it worked fine for me. I have no clue what is wrong with sending variables :/ |

| I never tried sending variables...but I don't see why that would be a problem. I'll try it from my end and see if I cant get it working. I also never linked more than two instances. |

| I just tried other data types and they don't work either. I do know that I was coding a link routine for one of my programs and I tested it with WabbtEmu. I never had a problem then. I have 1.5.2.7 for my 64-bit computer, too. I don't think that 64-bit or number of instances would have any effect in this case, though :/ I didn't manage to get Wabbit to crash, though. |
