I decided to start this because I noticed something interesting... I was checking what got the most downloads on TICalc of my recent programs and I found something a little amusing. I uploaded some programs and two of them happened to be a fun little triangle solver and a game that was about math. Yeah, so which would get uploaded more, the program that answered math questions or the one that gave math questions?
Solver: 7 downloads
Math Attack!: 19 downloads
Both were uploaded the same day, too! Personally I would download the math game over a solver any day, but I just didn't think that was a majority sentiment.
Anywho, I just wanted to know what kind of programs people liked!

I'm just curious about what people are interested in these days. I mean, I think I am starting to lean more toward Quadratic Solvers, but it is pretty close. Plus, if I need project ideas, it'll give me ideas  |

Hmm, well that is interesting. Yeah, it seems that the people who have voted are more interested in small programs that perform only a few functions as opposed to games and apps. I guess it is more end user friendly if they don't have to set up apps.
Of course, that might be because more people in the community like to make games as opposed to playing them :D
Still, I'm thinking Quadratic Solvers are making a comeback...
(on a half related note... I really need to add a Quadratic Solver to BatLib as an Easter egg  ) |

| I voted for games. Only because I think what has come from what we have learned is pretty impressive. I got into the scene because of Mario over 7 years ago and its the games/projects that keep me coming back. Not to say that math programs arent useful though. |

| Yeah, I agree about how impressive the games are. I remember TVF and Donkey Kong and I had so much fun with those. Now with tools like Axe... Sheesh... things are getting really great. |

| Axe just makes it so easy to do a lot of things in Assembly. It'll get even more impressive when Quigibo adds 3D support in v1.0 |

Who needs quadratic solvers when it's so easy to make them yourself in basic? It'd have to be pretty darn good and show the step-by-step work to get me to download one.  My vote... libraries. They gave basic programmers a fighting chance in the calc world. |

| Ok, I admit, there three three pretty cool ones there that I've seen and I'll have to download them when I'm able to surf on something other than the Wii, but I still like to make programs and I like libs to make the programs more flexable. |
