Your fault.

Actually, we've posters on here every day: these people aren't stomping around with signs that read, "The End is Near." Instead, they've each gotten a personal project going, found a website on which to demonstrate their progress, and offered/received some feedback between other members who are interested in the same field as they are. If you had really aspired to make a worthwhile contribution to the forum, then you should have tried something to that effect. Instead, you acted as the resident harbinger of something significant that you'd like to propagate through a thread like this one just to get to say in the end, "I called it."

You're not the first one. The last person to try this suggested in 2007–2008 that ticalc.org was on its last leg, and that there was no one respectable left in the community. Eventually, he did little more than alienate many of its members by repeatedly shutting down a forum that many of them enjoyed. I've learned to take these kinds of assertions with a grain of salt. But a year from now, if you come again from the shadow and echo this claim that we are all done—and will have nothing left to do—with any of our calculators, then I'll link back to this topic and say, perhaps more earnestly than before, "Your fault."

You have not seen the last of UnitedTI forums.
There are still people showing projects in this forum and Nspire talk is present here. TI-BASIC discussion stopped sometime ago, I don't know if someone resumed it recently.

People have been saying the TI community is dying since before my time. I won't believe it until Netcraft confirms it.

Agreed. Though personally I've stopped coming here as much primarily because of the new interface.

Hello, my name is David, one of the original founders of UTI,
and I have returned to save United-TI from oblivion! Smile (just kidding)

Let's face it, the activity has decreased significantly. I just looked
up the posting statistics of the forum, and FYI, the activity hit all-time low in july
this year (129 posts).

Noted. I'll get back to work on the skin. (It may as well be rewriting a book.)

Ahem, maybe a theme that looks like this: OLD SITE, which coincidentally doesn't look too far off from the current one. I know all the names of the users for the last post in each of the topics. hehe

Edit: Wow, only a 100 registered users at that time.

It's a little sad. This was my first forum to ever join, and it's slowed to the point that I rarely even check it anymore.

I have also been rather inactive. I tend to check the site every now and again, but between work and school, i haven't had much programming time. i am going to be working on a new Menu based RPG. In Ti-basic with 1080z graphics. Smile

In order for the forum to be active, you guys will have to be.

Let's use this topic to talk about what could encourage that.

To start off, I'm hoping that people will be / are still working on projects even if frequent updates are not posted. I've been constantly updating mine even though I only post once every two weeks or so.

And any kind of comments toward authors are appreciated by them. I don't post much because there's not much for me to reply to

Back in the hayday, about 2/3rds of our content was non-calculator open topic discussion. We need more of those casual, off-the-cuff topics around here. (Just no spam games, please Razz )

And we need some incentives, such as competitions.

The spammers are having a field day this week. More spam posts than discussion. Although that's not quite fair since it is humans vs. machines...
