Okay, I like Pokemon Red a lot. I really did. Hence the reason I want to do this port well. However, I learned that some reservations would have to be made with the technical specs of the TI-83+ family's calculators, as well as the limits in TIBASIC and my own talents.

Still, there IS a lot of ROM, even on a regular 83+. So, why not add a bit of my own personal content? It shakes up the game a bit and gives you more to explore. This topic is one of my exploits, the calculator-alternative Pokémon league! This is a series of seven optional bonus gyms, available for challenging after beating the E4 Champion. Each gym represents a popular location in the TI-community, with NPC cameos of users that reside in said community. The thing is, it only works if you guys represent yourselves biggrin.gif

Each gym will consist of one gym leader and at least 2 followers. Some gyms pretty much speak for themselves, such as Ben Ryves being the leader of Gym Maxcoderz, or Kevin Ouellet the leader of Gym Omnimaga.

Since I'm databasing stuff at the moment, now is a pretty good time to enroll. I will list the gyms, sprites, and Pokémon that are available. You guys will have to choose a short name, a sprite, a battle phrase, a win phrase, a lose phrase, a phrase you say after you've been defeated, and six Pokémon. You will be allowed to select four attacks, however, I reserve the right to choose level, edit movesets, and place someone in a different gym if one is too full. I will also choose who will be the leader of each Gym, though you may request the position.

There are actually fourteen empty sprites for trainers currently. If you want a custom sprite for your character, just post one, and I'll probably give it to you. To refer to an existing sprite, such as the first one, say either "Bugkeeper" or "A1". Here is an example:

I should add that as for the monsters, you may use any of the original 151, with the exception of Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

I tried to make the team a compromise between a strong and balanced team, and a team with Pokémon that I like. It's definitely not the best team out there, but it has some of my favourites in there. It could be a bit more original though.

i don't see how my first post was confusing...but whatever. i'm simply taking profiles of users for their cameo NPCs in seven extra gyms found in my version of Pokemon r/b/y. they are choosing a particular community/gym to represent.

It's been too long since I've played too remember all the attacks, but I'm including a list of the Pokemon that would be appropriate for
a Cemetech gym. Divvy them up as you see fit. Obviously Kerm should get the more powerful ones (as our gym leader). I'd add a couple of the other ones that I like playing with, but it would cause continuity problems with the Pokemon storyline. (My personal team usually consisted of Mew, Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Venusaur, and Aerodactyl)
