Introducing!... The sprite cast! Some have already appeared in the video and some haven't. :ninja: Powerup objects and projectiles will of course make appearances in multiple areas of the game.

Each enemy will have a 100% unique way of moving and attacking. The slurm -for example- sticks to you to prevent you from fleeting while nearby enemies pounce you. Barrels can be levitated by your character and explode after time delay. And the shrapnel simply explodes if you approach. Each level will include at least 1 unique enemy.

The cast of Oceanside:

The cast of Grand Grove:

Puzzles for Caldera are underway. The caverns in this level are so hot, you lose 1 HP per second (so in effect, all puzzles are timed). If you require more time or have bad luck, you can backtrack to a cooler cave to automatically get that lost HP back, or use your HP-up items to extend your "time limit." The puzzles are preliminary, but will involve levitating stone tablets onto special markers. Cool

Sigh, I just can't imagine I can't get an 82 for this game Sad . I hope it's also going to have an 83+ port so more people can play it (including me)!

Yeah, I'm also trying to learn enough TI-83+ programming to make it a multipage flash app but having trouble with it. The source should make porting to other Z80 models possible too.

Love the truck. :D

Are you going to do the 83+ port of the first Robot War after this? Pretty please?

heh heh. Subtle UTI reference with the truck.

I'm going to port the original first to get a little practice dealing with flash apps. Then I can code the new installment with it's 82 and 83+ versions at the same time. The graphics and gameplay will be identical between 82/83 version. The 83+ version gets a grayscale titlescreen and a more elaborate storyline. The 82 version get special unlockables.

Has there been any progress?

A little progress. (I kind of got side-tracked with Tribes Vengeance and Sony Vegas lately Cool )

The musical score has been chosen for Trailer #3. Some puzzles are filmed already and there's a new fire enemy lined up for the volcano areas. It's definitely the toughest regular enemy in the game so far. Despite it being the smallest level, area #3 takes a lot of practice to get through the stone pillar puzzles in time.

Well, I won't give away too many details here. After reading up on the Classical Elements, I finally found a way to manage elemental attacks in a way most people would agree with.

The inner arrows here describe the battle system. IE: water quenches flame, flame melts metal, metal cuts down wood, etc. Depending on which color you chose at the start, one of your elemental attacks will come with a special bonus effect.

The outer arrows govern item trade. IE: Certain items collected in Grand Grove (green) will be worth large sums if sold to Oceanside (blue), going opposite the arrows. Most of this has already been coded in.

Sweet! So what will be the Metal Area? A huge robot factory? And will you be able to travel between the areas freely? Each enemies are assigned to an element, right? Like the mosquito is assigned to water, the tank is assigned to metal, etc.

The metal and remaining areas will be secret until they have more progress. I think everyone will be in for some surprises though.

Most enemies are assigned 1 element. To make things interesting, others will use combinations of dissimilar elements. For example, the the mine is metal, however it explodes with fire. To main idea is to get everybody to level-up in at least two...maybe three...elements. So going into Caldera with water equipped won't necessarily mean easy times. Some enemies there will excel against water. Cool
