Good, because I would be interested in going head to head against a compiler given appropriate ground rules.

I don't really have much chance at winning, but you can always learn Very Happy
Absolutely, that sounds like fun. Smile Also, for what it's worth, I am currently typing out a news article slash essay slash review entitled "The Casio Prizm: Why TI Calculator Coders Should Abandon the Nspire CX"
Uhm... I hope the calc in the following pic is in low-power mode or just viewed under a bad angle, because look at the screen in that pic Shock

Hahaha oh wow, I certainly hope so! I am getting happier by the day that I went with the Casio Prizm, and I'm looking forward to spreading the word about TI's descent into abject failure with regards to their costumers and their loyalists.
Speaking of the Casio Prizm, have you guys seen this:

No, we hadn't. JosJuice, Qwerty, etc, can we work on trying to get SimonLothar over here one of these days soon? Smile

It would be nice if he started visiting Cemetech, but I don't know what he thinks about it. From what I've seen, there isn't much discussion on Cemetech about what he seems to be the best at (Casio C programming).
I'd say that's because we don't have the tools for it. We need someone who already has the proper tools to share them with us so that coders like you, me, Jonimus, and tanner can start hacking together Prizm add-ins in C.
whew, I was begining to think that it was going to have a really crappy screen there for a second. *whew* I bet you that it has a backlight, hopefully said backlight will not eat up batteries >.>

I'm sure it does have a backlight; transflective color LCDs are somewhat ugly. Have we confirmed that it is a decent-looking LCD? Does anyone actually have one yet?
You guys would probably be interested in the post by Fishbot on this thread near the bottom:

This pic looks better (from Datamath):

More links and pics here, including one from a very slanted angle, and it still looks perfect.

According to his post, the reason the first pic looked so bad was because his flatbed scanner doesn't work well with backlit displays.

So at least the display's fine. The CX actually looks really nice.
It still looks a bit oversaturated and washed out to me, but perhaps that's still an effect of the photography used. Have we also confirmed that there's not TI-84+ emulation whatsoever and no interchangeable faceplates?
Definitely no interchangeable faceplates, as qazz42 found here.

Has anyone invited him to post something here on how his Prizm programing efforts are going? I used to read posts by him on Casio Kingdom and he seems like a very helpful person. Sometimes people just need to be invited.

No, I don't believe anyone has.
Well, we should do something about that! Would one of you like to do so, or shall I?
Kerm, because you speak for the site while we individally can only speak for ourselfs, I think it would be better and more persuasive if you you email him. I think that most every one here would like to write some apps for the Prizm but we need some expert assistance in how to go about doing that so please tell him that we appreciate any guidance he can give us. Thanks Kerm.
Done. Let's see what happens! Hopefully he'll be interested in helping us out.
*bump* Got a response!
