Sounds good. When I'm an the chatroom my name is blue, a sign that I have a voice (voiced users in IRC are blue in my client). But I haven't actually checked to see what, if any, privileges I have.
In my opinion, an IRC client is better then XMPP because there are many 'simplified' or 'dumbed-down' clients on IRC's. That makes it easy to talk to people that don't know much about technology.
