is there any online radio similar to yahoos launch cast that is actually compatible with firefox?
there are tons, but none that are necessarily "compatible" with firefox. Must are just stream feeds that you open with a media player. I know some media players even have sample radio feeds that you can just click-and-play
I'd start with http://www.shoutcast.com/ - from the boys over at Winamp (which I *think* is required to listen, but Winamp's probably the best Windows music player, so you *should* have it anyway

i would try iTunes, in the radio section it has a bunch of stations, or go to the station you want website, they often have a streaming radio section

When I listen to online radio, I really like afterhoursdjs and Whisperings. After Hours is trance/techno at 192kbps, and Whisperings is solo piano. (Both are found under itunes radio if you use that program)
Obviously this is an epic necropost, but I still enjoy listening to PulsRadio. Over the summer, my workplace's firewall blocked PulsRadio, so I listened to various music on http://www.pandora.com instead. Another service that became popular in between this thread starting and the present day is http://www.last.fm.
