Yes, I could probably google this up, but that would lead me to lots of odd ball software and things I most likely want.

So I am asking here, anyone have a free DVD burning program that is reliable and does a good job, AND works on Win 7? This way I know I am getting something that isn't crap. :p
ImgBurn is my first choice for all such things:

alright, thanks. =]

IMGBurn is hands down the best Burning Software around go with that. For Ripping DVD's the best I've found is HandBrake though Using it in combination with DVD Decrypter to rip the raw files to the hdd first makes it much faster and awesomer and yse that should be a word.
I'll add another vote for ImgBurn. It packs a huge number of features into a small and simple UI.

That said, unless they've removed it from some reason in Windows 7, the built-in DVD burner applet has not failed me in Vista yet.
The image burner bundled with Vista/7 indeed works agreeably, but ImgBurn is just so much more featureful. I'll throw in my vote for ImgBurn.
Woot, that's four votes for ImgBurn, very nice. Smile Did you get a chance to give it a try yet, TIFreak8x?
If you just want to burn an ISO, I use ISO Recorder v3 - integrates very nicely with Windows. Will also rip an ISO.

If you want to author a DVD, Windows 7 has support for that built in. I've used Vista's version once, and it works well enough.
My vote goes to Alcohol 120%.

Not to mention that I think ImgBurn is at least as good as Alcohol 120% but at 100% less money.
I would definitely go with ImgBurn as well. If it is an install disc for a program, however, I would mount it with a free program such as Daemon Tools, which recently has been updated to work with 7.

You forgot about keygens Razz

I would never use illegal software! There is plenty of free software or open-source software in the world and we can sometimes even develop our own programs for our purposes (I can only program simple C++ and TI-BASIC so far, but am looking into Assembly. Razz )

The software is legal (because the DMCA just shouldn't count for much). Your acquisition of it, however, might not be legal.

I tried it once and it said my .avi was 4 minutes too long and wouldn't shrink it for me. Now I use DVD Flick. I saw it on lifehacker and love it.

I have to agree here, DVD Flick is awesome.
No, haven't had a chance to use it yet, been dealing with stomach flu. As to using Window's built in system, I have a few failures with other computers reading it.

Will check it out now. =]

Sorry to hear it, hope you're all better. Sad And I've heard various things of the same ilk, not to mention I like the degree of control and customization that ImgBurn offers.
