NoScipt is excellent for browsing a site with a lot of...ads and whatnot, but it can get very annoying if you allow it to block everything.

I've modified compacted javascript before. It takes a lot more studying to modify than uncompacted javascript, but its not any harder than modifying the obfuscated source of something written in any other language, (and a lot easier than say, modifying an open source brainf*** program).
