It would insert random commands in different places(including anywhere theres a syntax error) creating an almost completely random program.
sounds like an interesting idea, of course it would be a novelty program only since there is no real use for it, unless you were to design it to create random types of programs, like it would randomly build off a AI template or something
utterly pointless.

Even automated evolutionary code would be pointless... haha =D

hmm, perhaps you could feed a set of known inputs and outputs, and have the code brute force its way to a solution, but nah...thats rather complex/would-take-forever.
There is indeed a subset of problems that can be solved the way that rthprog suggests, but for the most part that would would be slow and useless on a calculator. Might be interesting on a computer, though. Smile
Completely possible...you could patch the OS' interrupt (or just install a cursor hook) that would randomly pick a random token and insert it into an (if open) edit buffer.
