I downloaded csx and pongos from ticalc.org and i followed their instructions for installing but when i tried to send i got an error saying it needed a certificate or something like that. How do i get a certificate so that i can try them out.
Alright now i am having a lot of problems. I cant even get 2.41 Os installed on my calculator because i get an error when it is halfway through installing.
Have you tried finding someone else with a calculator that would be willing to transfer the OS?? Otherwise, you might have majorly screwed up...
talk to sigma on UnitedTI, people ask this about every 6 months or so and he always tells them how....
Well, not being an idiot and not transferring an OS that is designed for an 83+ and says in the readme that it is more of a proof-of-concept than anything to a real calculator instead of an emulated one would have been a really good way to start Rolling Eyes
i posted it on unitedti now i just have to wait for a response so that i can start using my calculator again.
Well my calculator got fixed now i just have to update my os from 2.22 to 2.41.

So what did you end up doing? A full batt pull and the [DEL][ON] trick?
Indeed, what did you do?
In addition, I'm interested what boot code version you have, 1.00 or 1.02?

You can find that out in [MODE][ALPHA][S], by the way.
What i did was, download the latest os from my ti connect cd which said it was 2.41 but instead was actually 2.22. Then i pulled one battery. I then held [on] and [del] while inserting a battery (which is a lot harder than it sounds). I then opened up ti os downloader and it sent. I had to remain online during the whole process though because whenever my computer dropped the connection i would get an error. Then i manually downloaded the 2.41 os and used ti os downloader to upgrade what was currently on my calculator.

And tari the boot code is 1.02. Did you want to know so you could try and make lifos work on the 84's.
I've heard that boot 1.02 fixed the battery-pull exploit for loading unsigned OSes, but haven't seen any proof of it. LIFOS shouldn't need to interface with the boot code at all, really. And if 1.02 did fix that exploit, I'm designing a loader that uses the flash-write exploit, to be run from inside TIOS.

I hadn't heard that, but as you say, the flash-write thing should take care of it. You're planning on writing your own OS loader?
