I was wondering if some of you guys made music besides programming? On MC I know some ppl played guitar and on my IRC channel there is people who use Fruity loops sometimes, but i was wondering if there was people here too who did it as well? I recently made my way back to music making after downloading MTV music generator CD image for PSX emulator (I have the original CD but it broke 3 years ago), now I can make the music on the PC and record it with Audacity recording tool.

I started visiting ocremix website recently and posted on their forums as well. PLEASE, do SOMETHING about spambots, add a mod that isnt avaliable anywhere else, preferably make your own, because since tonight they get about 600 spambot porn posts per hour, and it still going. And the bot who posted here yesterday is one of those. There is at least 10 bots online ATM at ocr forums, you really gotta do something in case they come here because their forums is a huge mess now x.x

If that ever starts to happen, I'll disable my board in a hot second to install something. An issue came up for today, but I'll try to get elf's thing installed tomorrow.

I play bass and play in (currently) three bands: White Dog (we play all Led Zeppelin covers), The Who Tribute Band (a who tribute band, what a surprise) and The Yellow Snow Cones (where we play all originals, where recording in a few weeks). I also like using garage band to make funk music.

Good deal. I'd probably do a lot more with music if there was a GarageBand-ish program for Windows. And don't tell me Fruity Loops.

Speaking of which, what are the best audio editting software out there for linux. I'm friends with the guitar player of the band I mentioned above and convinced him to run Ubuntu. He was unimpressed with Rosegarden after using guitarpro under Windows.

He's already known about audacity, but he needs a "midi synthesizing program for a backing track."
