I've gotten all of my calc homework done except for one problem. We're trying to find the limit.

X^(1/4) - 8^(1/4)
---------------------
X^(1/2) - 8^(1/2)

X -> 8

I'm not sure what to do with this one. I probably just have to multiply by the conjugate, but what is X^(1/4) * X^(1/2)?

X^(3/4).

You probably don't need this anymore, but just in case, here ya go...

The bottom can be factored as a difference of squares, so it would become

X^(1/4) - 8^(1/4)
-------------------------------------------------
(X^(1/4) - 8^(1/4)) * (X^(1/4) + 8^(1/4))

Then you just cancel and you are left with

1

X^(1/4) + 8^(1/4)

Then just replace X with 8 and bam, you've got your answer
