Seeing as this is a calculator OPEN topic,
How do I open my -83? So I can test / solder the LCD traces ribbon cable.
My old eyes... It appears to be either a hex allen or perhaps a torx or tamper pin torx.
Please advise what fastener is in there or tool I require to open the case.

I believe the case screws are Torx T6.
This guide for the 83+ agrees with that. I've also had luck with a Phillips driver of a sensible size, though that's probably just luck that I was able to cram the bit into the mismatched screw head and get it to work.
