I tried to transfer the "DoorsCS7.8xk" file to my friend's calculator (a TI-82 Advanced, the french counterpart of the the TI-84 Silver Edition), but the following error message appeared:

I tried to rename the file extension, but it still doesn't work... I read some people already use Doors CS on their TI-82 Advanced, so I do hope there's a way to run it on my friend's.

Thank you for reading! Very Happy

You need the TI-83, not TI-83 Plus, version of Doors CS. Look in the "Other" folder (in the download from https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/430/43068.html, for example).

It doesn't work Neutral It says the file in the "Other" folder is an "invalid file", because TI Connect recognizes it as a TI-84 Plus (and TI Connect CE says it's a TI-82 Advanced)

Have you managed to make it work?
That's a crazy necropost!
It won't work because the TI-82 Advanced doesn't support asm (it never did). Just like recent versions of the CE, you need an exploit. There is one obscure exploit that could be used, but I'm not sure if that has been made public. That being said, there's no shell for the 82A, so if Kerm wanted to make a DoorsCS installer, he would need to create a new file along with some special instructions to run it. In other words, the 82A and 84+T aren't supported.
emh thanks for the reply ;3, wasn't expecting one.
Well, its kinda sad cause I find the TI-82 advanced more appealing aesthetically than the 84+. Today I finally got my 84+ and could be doing a shell swap... {the 82 is mint and the 84 is all scuffed up!!}
The exploit is public yeah.
You can follow the steps here https://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=22190
DAMM THANK I'LL TRY THIS OUT!!:3:3:3:3
I'm curious to hear if this works. In scanning through the instructions, it looks like it may only work for Apps that are one page (16KB) long, as anything two pages (32KB) or larger, like Doors CS, wouldn't fit into RAM, but I'd love to be wrong about that.
well i'll let you know when i do it, probably today!
Hughh I'm either dumb or it does not work!!, i tried with DoorCS btw
This is correct, for larger apps it wouldn't.
I suppose you'll have to try another shell if that was the goal.

New challenge for KermM is to shrink DCS 👀
that would be really cool! Smiling Cat
