Does anyone know the port value for the mini-usb to be used with the "in" and "out" commands?
I don't believe it's as easy as that. Try checking out some of the USB documentation here:

Just look at the USB8X source code to see how it does it (included in the USB8X download @ sourceforge)

@Kerm: That doesn't have anything on the TI-84s OR the USB

Sorry, they used to have some USB info there, since Dan E. is one of the usb8x devs. Looks like they moved it.
Actually, there is USB info, you just missed it.

Ha, good call calc84maniac. I had a feeling there was information on USB somewhere there.

Stupidest Wiki ever Razz
Actually, just click Ports, then Unknown Ports, then USB Ports.
yeah, but if a wiki doesn't even know if a page exists, it is a little dumb.
And why is it listed under Ti-83 Plus ports, when the 83+ doesn't even HAVE a USB port? And why is it listed under "Uknown" if it is known?
'Cause an 84 Plus is really an 83 Plus that's faster, has more memory, and has a mini USB.

Thats like the same as saying "A pentium 4 is really just a pentium thats faster, with more cache, and a bunch of new features" - aka, they ARE NOT THE SAME Laughing
It is "Unknown" because there are many unknown things about them.
And wasn't it the "TI-83 Plus family"? According to TI, 84s are included in that...

Such as? Its a mini USB port, not a hyper warp drive Rolling Eyes There is even a 3rd party driver for it that allows it to run as a host, seems pretty well "known" to me.
You know what ports are, right? Like port 0 is I/O, port 4 is interrupt, etc.
The mini-USB port has a HUGE number of those ports that have to do with it. If you click my link and scroll down a lot, you will see how many, and how many bits coming from them are unknown.
And if you look at MY link ( http://usb8x.sourceforge.net/ ) you will see that it is fully usable. Don't go by just that wiki, what may be unkown to it doesn't necessarily mean it is unkown
My link and your link were both made by Dan Englender. What if you wanted a small asm program that would just send a byte through the usb port? It would not be simple to make, unlike the I/O port.
Thats because USB =/= I/O port Rolling Eyes USB is a standard interface, it is not designed to be a simple 1 byte send/receive mechanism. USB has to follow the "rules" of USB, especially when running as a host. You can't just send a byte to the USB, it doesn't work that way.

Go read up on how USB works before expecting to be able to just send raw data over USB. Or you could, of course, just use the USB8X driver for whatever you need, as it does have an API.
I guess it's useless for link games, then. I don't have a calc-to-calc I/O cord, so that's why I'm interested in USB.
Note to self: Never start an argument with Kllrnohj.
Laughing These bouts between the n00bs and the experienced users is almost becoming comical *gets bowl of popcorn and reads posts*

Well then you buy a calc link cable; they're really not expensive at all (worst case scenario you buy a stereo cable and two adapters to put on either end)

Oh, and check out my TUTORIALS topic (yes, it's in all caps)
