Hi - I met you guys at the worl maker faire in NYC a couple of weeks ago. Great stuff! I am a physics/engineering teacher in Plainville CT. Also into FIRST robotics.
I have a TI 83 plus that is dead. When I press the [ON] button nothing happens on the screen. I have tried new batteries without success. Is there anything i can do to see if the OS is working or not. I was looking at other posts and It looks like it could be either a dead screen, OS or electric shock. I tried taking one battery out and:
-pressing the [ON] multiple times,
- holding the [DEL] and pressing the [ON] multiple times
-holding the [DEL], insert the 4th battery and pressing [ON]
Nothing happened.
Can I do anything?
Thanks! - Jeff
Have you tried hooking it up to a computer to see if you can use TI Connect's screenshot function to see the calculator's screen? If you can, then the problem is the LCD cable. You'll need a SilverLink USB to calculator cable to test this, though.
