So, I'm having trouble with my newish blog on my site (http://jpez.sobertillnoon.com/blog/blog.html). I am using the advanced option that allows you to host the blog on your site while still using the blogger site to post. All goes well when posting (i.e. there are no errors and the post appears when I publish it), but permalinking does not appear to be working. Permalinks are stored as HTML files in the form /year/month/title.html. When I "installed" blogger on my site and made a test post, I noticed that this directory had not been created. Thinking this might be the problem, I manually created a /2006/05 path and chmodded it to 777. Alas, this did not solve the problem and the permalink files are not present. I am at a loss as to what to do (and yes, I have tried Google). Any suggestions?
Did that second test post fix it? Because it looked like it was working to me...
just republish your entire site, not just the index. It always works fine for me.

@Kerm: Thanks for the help, but I'd appreciate it if you'd *ahem* read my post before answering. Cool I was talking about permalinking, not just posting.

@elf: Good suggestion, but I think I figured out the problem. I need to set my FTP path to the server's FTP path. I suspect this might have an effect on how it's creating files...
ohhh. that would do it. :p look in your root directory.

There's a php command to do that.

@JPez: I guess I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about relative vs. absolute linking, not making permanent links to your posts. Got it now. Smile
It didn't work. Sad And yes, I republish the entire site when I make a post.
have you enabled post pages?
Huzzah! After much difficulty, I have finally fixed it all. Behold: http://jpez.sobertillnoon.com/blog. Now if only I had a flock of blind-sheep followers and a controversial issue to write about... Evil or Very Mad
You can write about me and my mad crazy ramblings...
What can I say about you that hasn't been said about Afghanistan? Both are bombed-out, destroyed, and depleted.
Laughing Ohhhkayyyy... Smile
