I just discovered a game in the Crowdfunding phase over at Kickstarter called "CodeSpells." The game brings the empowering imagination of our youth and roleplaying creativity as wizards and warlocks into a game for all ages. CodeSpells opens up the world of programming into a creative game of magic.
CodeSpells is an open world sandbox game where users can create creatures out of the terrain, shape the landscape and construct barriers around themselves, buildings and anything else they desire using the roar elements of Earth, Wind, Fire & Water. There is a fifth element as well, Life.
The Kickstarter page will describe the game and the teams goals much clearer than I can. The game has $91,000 raised and at $100k they'll implement multiplayer support. $150k, life & animals. $200k, AI Framework for NPC wizards. $250k, create unique wizards & creatures. There's only 13 days left and for 15 bucks, you can't choose a better (and funner) option to learn programming!
