This is the "official" story that is spreading.

The latest revision of Texas Instruments' OS for the TI-84+/SE calculators, OS v2.53, will be released on February 15th, and was recently leaked to the community. It contains several new features, many of which appear to be inspired by applications written by community members and by features of other TI calculator models. It appears that applications such as PrettyPrint (now called "MathPrint" in the new two-page MODE menu), CtlgHelp, and GeoMastr hard-coded into the OS.
Preliminary examination reveals there to be many new hooks and 96 new bcalls in this version.

Stay posted for more updates as more information is released.

It is there, we aren't entirely sure how it is used (correct me if I'm wrong).

It's real. It runs in Wabbit. See http://sircmpwn.pbworks.com/Leaked-OS for a download.

Yes, PTT Patch.

PTT Patch erases the evil part of the Press-to-Test code from the TI-84 Plus OS.

Well, it looks like it could be pretty cool. I've always liked the TI-73's homescreen; it's nice to be able to view all the past answers as well as entries. Any word yet on whether the pretty-printing can be hooked? (Somebody needs to connect this thing to Symbolic. Razz)

[whiteout]and somebody needs to put this on the 83+[/whiteout]

On the other hand... whoever wrote this doesn't seem to understand the purpose of soft key menus.

Do you have omnicalc installed?

Also, where can I download this? I don't have irc for the #ti channel.

Oof, I'm stupid. I had actually even read the wikiti page about the "partial clear" omnicalc glitch in 2.53MP, but I failed to think of it. MP works fine while omnicalc is uninstalled.

I am currently downloading the OS. Will report back later. I wonder if my apps work? (BasicBuilder apps, that is)

While Cemetech is down, I can post a couple bugs I found here that occur when MathPrint is on, with associated screenshots (note the second screenshot shows more of a performance issue than a bug)

 • Going to the Catalog twice in a row creates the effect of keeping the top half of a displayed menu, shortcut menu, etc. on the homescreen when it is returned to.
 • Going to a menu, then the Catalog, then the homescreen temporarily displaces the cursor. Nothing major, just a momentary annoyment.
 • You must return to the homescreen by pressing "clear" for either of these to have an effect

 • Programs just take a long time to have their name displayed.
 • Also, on a real calc, it looks more gray.
As stated above, Mathprint must be on or else none of these effects occur.

Note: this has been verified on my calc (84+SE, boot code v1.02) and on an emulator running the same. Sorry for the screen shots being rather small.
