Well it's been ages since I released a program so I thought it was due time that I got around to finishing codex.

Codex is a multipurpose asm utility for basic programmers. It is aimed more so towards the graphical end of programming yet it contains some other system functions.

In total I have squeezed 30 asm functions into this program. It has a size of 806 bytes. Not bad for what it can do.

Here's a general idea of what it can do

-system contrast control
-Fast graphscreen clear and blacken
-5 different rectangle functions
-Run Indicator control
-8 directional graph screen scrolling
-LCD off
-Archive/Unarchive programs
-Delete programs from basic program
-8*8 sprite routine

and much more...

Want to enhance your basic programs, click here

I think you'll enjoy it.

Justin,

We need to talk about Codex.

We can put it on some download page, and United-TI (or rather you) can support it.

Why thankyou. I'm still adding a few functions to it yet. Please remember to give me credit Laughing

As for your question. You weren't doing anything wrong. I made a small error in my coding. I am making a few mods and adding two more functions. Locking and Unlocking of programs I will announce when the updated version is released at ticalc.org

Heh Laughing

Don't feel guilty. Asm is a hard language to learn and lets face it, not everyone wants to learn it. Just think of it as hi-brid basic programs. I've seen some amazing things done with basic. I've done some great things with basic. I wanted to help people take basic to the next level with instructions that are as easy as basic itself.

Just thought everyone might like to know.

The downloads section is now functional. Therefore you can get the updated version of codex right now.

Here's the URL. Codex

Jon fixed the problem. There was one problem with a single line in the config file and now it's operational.

Not all UTI Staff have it yet actually...however a few do, and I think it should be more then just up to me as to anyone else (UTI members) who would receive that privledge.

Also if I'm not mistaken, work is being done for an all new homepage for UnitedTI, one more suiteable for the group then Zabotage in its current state. But for the sake of the moment and since it is in place working, I see no reason why not to use it until then.

Just for the record, the reason the download function wasn't working before, I failed to add the new line to the config file sometime ago during an update, this line is now added making the code no longer error out. So the downloads were indeed being added, but they were unable to be taken out of the queue so they show up on the main download page. I also dequeued a program that David uploaded some time ago as I'm sure that is what he wanted done.

Codex is really nice since it have 32 utilities in one, but one thing that should be improved is the rectangle and sprite display speed and maybe don't update the display each time a sprite is displayed. It take 30 seconds instead of 10 with omnicalc to fill the screen with 8x12 maps, especially when the memory is under 10000 bytes.
