I have a file c:/windows/system32/d3d8thk.dll
I'm fairly sure its corrupt: the file size shows 0 kb.
I have a copy of the file, but cannot get it to go into the system32 directory.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I suggest downloading a replacement for d3d8thk.dll. If there are still problems following that, you may want to reinstall or upgrade DirectX.

Problem Fixed

I downloaded the .dll file and tried to extract it to the directory, in vain.
Apparently, I had to give myself permission to give myself permission to write and and to edit the file....that more fun than you can imagine.

Anyway, it works now, thanks for the help goose
