I was running a new program and my TI83+ said install new software now or something like that. I didnt know what to do so i (stupidly) pressed on. Then it said press any key to turn off, then turn on. So i did and of course it did exactly what i feared...cleared my ram. Does anybody know what the newest version of the TI83+ OS is and where i can get it? I want to avoid this from happening again in the future. Right now the calc says 1.13 on the RAM cleared screen, so i'm assuming that's the version i have right now.

why would you want a 1.15, it messes with Omnicalc's and Symbolic's functions. I got mine with 1.15 on it, then downgraded it to 1.14. I don't know of any difference in the functions, if you do tell me.

"Please install calculator software now" is the message you get when a program does something bad or you do the ol' batt-del trick. Putting in a new version doesn't get rid of it.

And by the way, if you ever get to see this message, then your calc is so screwed up you'll have to clear RAM anyway.

OS 1.16 is the latest 83 Plus operating system. Doesn't do jack over 1.15 except add support for their costly navigator system. If you wanna download 1.16, visit the Online Store and get it.

Only problem is you need to sign up on TI website first to access the downloads area.

I have seen this problem on several calcs at school. After linking them up with another calculator and sending to OS over the link, it works fine. I dont think any one of TI's OSs is especially prone to the problem. I think it occurs when the OS gets corrupted in some way.
