| I will be moving overseas to Europe (specifically: Hungary, which FYI is in the EU) in about two months, but my desktop is in need for an upgrade. The problem is that I do not know how expensive parts are in Europe compared to prices in the US. I know that some UTI uses live in Europe, so can you guys tell me the approximate prices of computer parts (specifically nVidia Geforce 8 graphics cards and Intel Core 2 Duo processors) in Europe, in US Dollars or in Euros? |

CoBB would probably be your best man to ask, but the general impression I get is that components are generally more expensive in the EU -- significantly more expensive here in the UK, at any rate, where you might as well just change the $ sign to a £ when pricing kit. The weak dollar will certainly not help, either.
Overclockers UK are usually pretty cheap when it comes to parts, but there is naturally a wide range in prices depending on which particular version of a video card or CPU you buy.

I was wondering if I would save money by buying parts later in Europe or by buying them ASAP in the States.
@benryves: I know parts are very expensive in the UK, but I was wondering more about mainland (central to eastern) Europe, such as Germany, Austria, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, and even Hungary itself.
So far, all I know is that on the internet, parts are 50% to 150% more expensive than in the US, but many people have told me not to look at the internet prices for parts, since in-store prices are usually much cheaper. |

| I would bet on any savings. The dollar's been falling steadily since the mid 70's and Washington won't fix it until there's an imminent collapse. And the shipping will only add to things. In-store actually is cheaper most of the time. The only letdown is they try to coax you into buying bundles or mail-in rebates. But cheaper is cheaper. |
