Another member has been accepted into the United TI project. His real name is Justin Eldridge (now we are three Justins Smile), he's from Ohio, and is known under the username Jeffrey in this forum.

Let's welcome him!

Hey, didnt even see this.

Yeah, thanks for the welcome, I will look forward to working in the UnitedTI community. Justin is my real name, as David said. Jeffrey is just a nickname/alias that I use, most people at school call me Jeffrey. In fact, several new students thought my name was Jeffrey after about 2 months of school, because almost no one calls me Justin. Oh well.

Thanks again!

You've been here for months and they're just welcoming you today? Is there something I'm not getting here?

We're welcoming him to the UTI team thingy, he used to be a normal forum member.

Yeah, I joined a few months ago, but now just joined UTI. I am looking forward to working with all of you, as well.

My first project as a UTI member will be the AEGIS protection utility. It is an ASM program that blocks the memory, link, app, and program menus as well as protects on startup (if you have the startup program). It is about 25% complete as of now.

Speaking of that, does anybody have the keycodes for the app and link buttons? Like Kmem is the code for the memory button.

Awesome. All I have left to make is the options menu! Anyway, is there a way to run a program on startup without the startup program? I would guess not, but anybody know?

Supposenly,

Your calculator runs an appvar called OFFSCRPT by copying the data to 8000h and executing it before powering down. However, I have not been able to figure out exactly how it works even though it sounds simple enough.

I have tried putting a single ret in an appvar for execution expecting it to return to the system monitor and finish shutdown. Instead, it simply hangs/crashes. I plan to do a little more work with it and figure it out.

After I figure it out, I then need to setup a getkeyhook (yes the one that is on par with getcsc) and set it up to run bcall(_executeapp) as Michal V has named the app loader.

It may be possible to use the getkey hook and or the bcall to make the offscript work. I will see what I can do.

Thats great. Does anybody know how to use the 2 key keyhooks? Like a user presses ON and PRGM and it runs something? I can do normal keyhooks, but the two keys would be great for running the setup program.

ALSO- Every time I do certain things with the program, usually dealing with the appvars, I loose free RAM, until I get a memory error. Has this happened to anybody before?

Amazingly, the ON button has noting to do with the keyhook.

First check for a keyhook, then if the key is pressed, check the on button hardware and ignore the key unless on is pressed.
