Also, I think a more intuitively correct way of handling the dividing line would be if no part of the paddle could cross it (as it is now, it's okay to cross it as long as part of the paddle is on your side).

The S button doesn't work on Mac OS X 10.4.11 with the latest version of Java.  It would be nice if the paddles were wider.

Much better :)

The ball goes halfway through the left paddle when bouncing, and it looks a bit odd...

Player 1 can't move his paddle down for me. Player 1 up works, and the controls for player 2 work.

I know, but I thought it looks better than drawing the paddle farther out

THAT is strange. lemme post up a debugging version for you to use.

press and release the following keys once each, in order, for me, using the attached file (when you save, just change the extension back to .jar, or extract the zip and run the class file from Terminal)

I figured it out; it's the Dvorak keyboard layout. It works when I switch back to QWERTY. Pressing the Dvorak W and S also works. What's weird is that the QWERTY W works even in Dvorak layout. Are you using the Dvorak layout, bananaman?

I'll see if there is a way to determine the keyboard layout in java.

what are the preferred keys for such usage on a Dvorak layout?

The Dvorak comma key is where the QWERTY W key is, and the Dvorak O is where the QWERTY S is. It's not really a big deal; I'm going to switch back to QWERTY one of these days anyway.
