Well, I will use my laptop for gaming, but not hardcore. I'm fine with playing games at low quality 800x600 resolution (as long as they are good), I don't think I'll want to crank up Oblivion to max settings. The main reason I want a laptop is the portability (and maybe the trackpad, I Good Idea trackpads).

Plus, I am very price aware, and I don't think I'll find a hardcore gaming laptop for under $700...

As far as I know, Dell is the only company that offers XP preinstalled these days, so I don't think that anything is going to meet your requirements. You could (assuming that you have XP installed on your old computer) make a ghost of the hard drive and copy it to a new computer that you buy. That's the only way you are going to get XP on a non-Dell without buying a copy or getting it installed at a university.
Btw, what's a "goliday"? Smile

Search in the Small & Medium Business section next time, as most offers there are cheaper than anywhere else and not all laptops are strictly for business (as you will see by the graphics chipset choices). Wink
