Well, the flicker will still be there regardless of whether it's black-on-white or white-on-black. The only solution to that is to erase-and-draw the asteroids, which will be pretty but slow.

Or you could use assembly, or an assembly library, both of which have the ability to write the entire frame to the screen at once, getting rid of flicker.

It wouldn't even be pretty (yes, it would still be slow), certain astroids would be clear but others would be grayish.

It wouldnt be hard if the asteroids went only vertically or horizontally, but that would be less challenging.

I say: Some (z80) required and More (z80) required although both are a little incomplete.
