Real Sound
The file takes up a lot of space, so at most (w/ a SE) you should be able to get 90-100 secs of sound.

Trust me, you won't be a lonely geek for long if you stay here.

And I'd advise you not to mention stuff like

Welcome to United-TI!

I can say nothing of this, but neither, apparently, can Omnicalc's manual.

It uses the same arguments as QB's PLAY command IIRC, so look at the source for some old QB games/programs... Wink (For example).

You don't have to be lonely, even if you don't code much, like me.

its not the syntax errors, rcfreak0,
you've never learned to code because the only thing you've had to learn was how to change the credits from 4th Reich to rcfreak

Such a happy couple! Razz

Anyways, to get back on topic, I think that what luby suggested would be a great solution to your problem Laughing

HaHa! Very Happy Programs like that dont just get written because people feel like it. That takes months! Maybe even years! You have to understand midi/whatever format... oh man. Especially sence you called me a lonely geek! :ninja: Not that I could make one anyways!

If the song converter is possible, I think I will eventually be able to do it I. My goal is a full blown i-pod program (grayscale). Every second I'm either coding, thinking of coding, or on this site

Note: the lonely geek was a reference to rcfreak0, and we are a happy couple Good Idea

*Yoda voice* Very ambitious, this one is.

If you want to have a full-blown iPod-like program on a calculator with decent greyscale, I strongly recommend you learn assembly. With assembly, you do not have to limit yourself so much to Omnicalc's powers, do not need for users to have Omnicalc or any other external library to use the program, and will have greyscale at much higher qualities because of the speed of assembly. If you already know z80 assembly, kudos to you, you are ahead of programming than me. Razz

An ipod program is impossible without assembly. Greyscale is ridiculously ridiculous without assembly, and it is highly unrealistic unless you find a new way to compress songs to uber small sizes. Sad Hate to burst your bubbles but, what can be done has been done. And I am disturbed that you are constantly thinking related thoughts to calculators... :ninja:

HAPPY COUPLE? sorry to go off topic agian, but fourthreich, you need to get hit by a bus. A happy couple, NO! Just beacause we go to the same school, does not mean that we are a couple!!! Fourth, i suggest you change you signature, because i can code, but not the greatest! So why dont you just shove it and go cry in a corner.

Great! I have my first project
I have a question, actually. What would be the best (least memory usage) way to store the songs?

A matrix would be fine, or a list that refers to the string with all the song names in it Laughing
