After many months of labor, I am pleased to announce my new TI-89 graphing engine. Übergraph runs many times faster than the built-in grapher without sacrificing a pixel of accuracy. It still needs some refinement, so I'll be releasing it later, but I have included a video of me testing it for your viewing pleasure. I've only got the polar graphing working right now, but function graphing will be easy to implement.

Erm...actually I was hoping this would get a little more traffic yesterday. This was my April Fool's joke. Neutral In retrospect, I should have stuck in my uber-fast 3D graphing feature just to make it a bit more obvious.

I do, however, have a basic program that can take sequential pictures of polar graphs for use with CyclePic. It runs really fast. Rolling Eyes

I suppose I should have seen that coming. Why polar graphing?

Because it's so much faster and simpler to draw a portion of a graph in polar mode, where you can set [font="courier new;font-size:9pt;line-height:100%;color:darkblue"]θmin and [font="courier new;font-size:9pt;line-height:100%;color:darkblue"]θmax. To graph a portion of a graph in function mode, you have to do something messy like [font="courier new;font-size:9pt;line-height:100%;color:darkblue"]when(x>1 and x<5,x^2,undef).

I have attached the program I used to make these graphs. Theoretically it could be adapted to do function graphing, but I don't feel like dealing with that right now.
