I have spoken in private with a few of you seeking your advice about setting up the contest page as a subdomain to get by until I finish the rest of the beta page.
The bad news is that I have created a subdomain for that purpose, unfortunately the code is so integrated into the 2.1.x database structure of IPB, this won't be possible.
If the forums were upgraded to 2.1.x this would work, however that would also cause more problems. Most of the mods we have installed now are not compatible with IPB 2.1.x, which is half of the reason why I was working on the beta site in the first place, it is also why we haven't moved to 2.1.x from 2.0.x yet. Additionally the Blueglass theme has not yet been ported to the 2.1.x forum skinset.
Looks like we're stuck with no official contests for a while yet.
